Hose fittings as per EN14423 provide a secure and high-quality connection in scenarios that are subjected to thermal loads caused by hot water or steam up to a maximum of 18 bar. For applications not subject to thermal loads, the fittings for nominal widths DN13-50 are suitable for a maximum operating pressure of 40 bar. For applications in the lower pressure and/or temperature ranges the lighter and thus more cost-efficient hose fittings as per EN14420 can be used.
Hose fittings as per EN14423 – also called “heavy-duty flanged hose fittings – consist of a connector with a safety collar and a set of clamp fittings with safety collar. The connector is inserted into the hose and carries the respective selected connecting end. The hose is then pressed onto the connector from the outside by means of the clamp fittings.
The significantly higher temperature and pressure loads on the connection as compared with the application area of EN14420 are absorbed by matched ridges on the connectors and the clamping fittings.
CAUTION: Please do not use or swap fittings as per EN14420 and EN14423 with one another.
Screw-on clamp fittings offer the advantage that they can accommodate hose tolerances and different hose dimensions. In this context, the clamping area of the clamp fitting must be carefully checked prior to use. Clamp fittings can be re-tightened and re-used at any time.
RS probably provides the worldwide largest portfolio of possible connection with hose connectors as per EN14423.
